Tuxedo Brass Band

The Tuxedo Brass Band was formed in 1910 by trombonist William Bebe Ridgley and Papa Celestin. A change of pace from the dirges and marches of the time, their repertoire focused on commissioned music and arrangements. A line of great musicians played in Tuxedo Brass Band through the years, including Louis Armstrong, cornetist Peter Brocage, trombonist Sonny Henry, trumpeter Amos White, and brass band veterans Lorenzo Tio Jr, Isadore Barbarin, Louis Dumaine, and tubist Eddie Jackson.
